Amatrin - 2nd Annual Sports Carnival

The Amatrin 2025 – The 2nd Annual Sports Carnival, held from March 6th to 8th at the university campus, was a vibrant celebration of athleticism and school spirit. Organized by the Department of Physical Education, the event brought together enthusiastic participation from 1,350 students competing across 11 different sports events.

The inaugural session was expertly led by comperes who guided the audience through the event with charisma and flair. The carnival kicked off with an energetic opening ceremony that included the hoisting of both the National Flag and the Amatrin Flag, followed by a torch relay that set the tone for the three-day event.After the flag hoisting, the audience enjoyed a spectacular march past that highlighted the unity and discipline of the university's various schools. This was further enhanced by impressive human pyramids, showcasing the strength and teamwork of the students.

Cultural performances added a vibrant touch to the opening ceremony, with students showcasing their talents through dance and music, celebrating the rich diversity of the university community. Dr. T. Rakesh Singh, a Professor of Mathematics and the Director of Research and Development, served as the Convener of the event, while Dr. Ganesh Gollavelli, an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Chemistry, took on the role of Co-Convener.

Convenor Dr. T. Rakesh Singh welcomed the attendees, creating an enthusiastic atmosphere for the festivities.

The Registrar, along with the Vice Chancellor and the President of the University, addressed the crowd, emphasizing the importance of sports in the holistic development of students. They highlighted the university's commitment to fostering athletic talent and the role of sports in promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and personal growth.

Chief guest Mr. Majid Khan, former captain of the national football team, delivered an inspiring keynote address. He praised the university for its dedication to promoting physical fitness and teamwork, while also emphasizing the discipline and respect that sports instills in individuals.

The carnival saw enthusiastic participation across various sports, including cricket, volleyball, basketball, and athletics. The event's highlights included thrilling matches in kabaddi, volleyball, and cricket, showcasing the competitive spirit of the students.

The closing ceremony featured a flag lowering event and a grand prize distribution ceremony, where the Vice Chancellor presented awards to all winners and runners-up. Medals, certificates, and mementos were awarded by the Vice Chancellor, Registrar, and the Convenor, celebrating the achievements of the participants.

Overall, AMATRIN 2025 was a grand success, fostering sportsmanship and camaraderie among students while highlighting the significance of sports in holistic education. The event concluded with a campfire, fireworks, and a DJ night, leaving participants with cherished memories and a strong desire to engage in future events.A post-event feedback survey revealed that a significant majority of students rated the event as either Good or Excellent, while an overwhelming number expressed interest in participating in similar events in the future.
