SC ST Committee

In accordance with the guidelines set by AICTE and the provisions of Act No. 33 of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, Aurora University has established a committee for the prevention of atrocities against SC/ST students. This committee serves as a platform for SC/ST students to address any grievances they may encounter and ensures their safety and well-being within the institute.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Counseling and Guidance: Provide counseling and guidance to SC/ST students to help them manage academic and personal issues effectively.

Information Dissemination: Inform SC/ST students about various scholarships and programs offered by the State Government and UGC to support their academic pursuits.

Grievance Redressal: Act as a Grievances Redressal Cell for SC/ST students and employees, assisting them in resolving academic and administrative problems.

Prevention of Atrocities: Ensure the prevention of atrocities against SC/ST staff, faculty, and students within the university campus.

Conflict Resolution: Hear and resolve any issues or complaints related to atrocities reported or complained by SC/ST individuals.

Composition of SC/ST Committee:

Chairperson: The Dean of Aurora University.
Vice Chairman: A senior faculty member appointed by the university.
Ladies Representatives: Two representatives from the teaching staff, ensuring gender diversity and representation.
College Representatives: Three representatives from the college, comprising one from the teaching staff and two from the non-teaching staff.
