Grievance Redressal Committee

The Grievance Redressal Committee at Aurora University is established to address and resolve grievances of students, faculty, and staff in a fair and timely manner. This committee ensures that all concerns are handled transparently and effectively, fostering a supportive and harmonious campus environment.

Composition:

Chairperson: A senior faculty or administrative member appointed by the university.

Faculty Representatives: Members from various departments to provide comprehensive perspectives on grievances.

Student Representatives: Students nominated by the university to ensure that the student body’s concerns are adequately represented.

Administrative Staff: Representatives from the university’s administrative staff to facilitate the resolution process.

Functions:

Grievance Handling: Receive, review, and address grievances submitted by students, faculty, and staff.

Investigation: Conduct thorough investigations into grievances to understand the issues and gather relevant information.

Resolution: Provide fair and just solutions to grievances, ensuring that all parties involved are heard and their concerns addressed.

Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with the complainant throughout the grievance resolution process.

Follow-up: Ensure that resolved grievances are followed up to confirm the implementation of solutions and satisfaction of the complainant.

Policy Development: Develop and update policies related to grievance redressal to improve the process and ensure its effectiveness.

Rules and Regulations:

Submission: Grievances must be submitted in writing, either through an official email, the online portal on the university website, or a physical submission to the committee’s office.

Confidentiality: All grievances and related communications will be kept confidential to protect the privacy of the complainant and any other involved parties.

Timeliness: The committee will acknowledge receipt of a grievance within 5 working days and initiate an investigation within 10 working days.

Impartiality: The committee will handle all grievances impartially, without any bias or prejudice.

Transparency: The grievance process will be transparent, with regular updates provided to the complainant regarding the status of their grievance.

Documentation: All proceedings and resolutions will be documented and stored securely for future reference.

Grievance Redressal Mechanism:

Receipt of Complaint: Upon receiving a grievance, the committee will acknowledge receipt within 5 working days.

Initial Review: The committee will review the grievance to determine its validity and the need for further investigation.

Investigation: A thorough investigation will be conducted to gather all relevant information and understand the issue.

Hearing: If necessary, the committee will set a date for a hearing, which will be communicated to the complainant. The complainant may present their case in person or submit written statements.

Resolution: The committee will provide a resolution within 30 working days of receiving the grievance. The resolution will be communicated to the complainant along with any recommendations for corrective action.

Follow-up: The committee will follow up with the complainant to ensure the resolution has been implemented and the issue satisfactorily addressed.

By adhering to these guidelines, the Grievance Redressal Committee at Aurora University ensures a fair, transparent, and effective process for addressing and resolving grievances, promoting a positive and supportive campus environment.
