Anti Ragging Committee

Ragging, in any form, is strictly prohibited within and outside the premises of Aurora University. To enforce this, an Anti-Ragging Committee has been constituted by the university. This committee has the authority to take immediate action against any instance of ragging involving freshers or existing students. Upon admission, students are required to provide an undertaking signed by themselves and their parent/guardian, acknowledging their awareness of the university's stance on ragging and the consequences they may face if found guilty.

All students enrolled at Aurora University are expected to adhere to the discipline rules set forth by the institution. They are subject to the disciplinary jurisdiction of the Head of the Institution, as well as other designated officers and authorities. A declaration to this effect must be submitted by students at the time of admission.

As part of our efforts to familiarize freshers with the academic and social environment of the campus, an orientation session is organized during the first week of each new academic calendar. This session aims to ease the transition for new students and promote a welcoming atmosphere.

Composition and Functions of Anti-Ragging Committee:

The Anti-Ragging Committee at Aurora University is headed by the Head of the Institution and consists of the following members:

Chairperson: Head of the Institution.

Dean: Representative from the academic leadership.

Senior Student Representatives: Students chosen to represent the senior student body.

First-Year Student Representatives: Students selected from the first-year cohort.

Functions:

Policy Enforcement: Ensure strict enforcement of anti-ragging policies and regulations.

Monitoring: Conduct surprise checks at vulnerable areas on campus to prevent and detect instances of ragging.

Investigation: Promptly investigate any reported incidents of ragging and recommend appropriate actions.

Awareness: Organize awareness campaigns and orientation sessions to educate students about the consequences of ragging.

Coordination: Coordinate with law enforcement authorities and other relevant bodies to address ragging incidents effectively.

Punitive Measures: Recommend suitable punishments for offenders as per the severity of the offense, including FIR with Police, suspension/expulsion, debarring from campus activities, and rustication from the institution.

Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of reported incidents, actions taken, and outcomes for compliance and future reference.

At Aurora University, we are committed to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all members of our community, where mutual respect and dignity are upheld at all times.
