Amatrin - Sports Carnival

The Amatrin -Sports Carnival 2024, held from March 14th to 16th at the university campus, was a vibrant celebration of athleticism and school spirit. Organized by the Student Organizing Committee, the event brought together teams from the School of Engineering (Blue Jersey), School of Informatics (Yellow Jersey), and School of Business Studies (Red Jersey).

The inaugural session was expertly led by comperes Mr. V. Chandrashekar and Dr. K. Gayathri Devi, who guided the audience through the event with charisma and flair.

The carnival began with an energetic opening session, featuring a flag hoisting ceremony and a torch relay that set the stage for the three-day event. Convenor Dr. M.C. Ajay Kumar welcomed the attendees, creating an enthusiastic atmosphere for the festivities.

Registrar Dr. Srilatha Chepure then addressed the crowd, emphasizing the importance of sports in the holistic development of students. She highlighted the university's commitment to fostering athletic talent and announced a special scholarship for students excelling in sports. Her speech underscored how sports contribute to physical fitness, teamwork, and personal growth.

Chief guest Dr. Ram Reddy, Principal of the Government Physical Education School, delivered an inspiring keynote address. He praised the university for its dedication to promoting physical fitness and teamwork.

The carnival saw enthusiastic participation of students across various sports, including cricket, volleyball, chess, carroms, and athletics. The event's highlights included exciting matches in kabaddi, volleyball, and cricket. The School of Business Studies triumphed in kabaddi, the School of Informatics excelled in volleyball, and the School of Engineering secured the cricket championship.

The closing ceremony featured a flag lowering event and a presentation of awards. Winners and runners-up were honored with medals, certificates, and mementos by Registrar Dr. Srilatha Chepure and the deans of the respective schools.

Overall, the Amatrin Sports Carnival 2024 was a grand success, fostering sportsmanship, competition among students, and highlighting the significance of sports in holistic education.
