On October 24, 2024, the Department of Mathematics, School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, at Aurora University organized an insightful expert talk featuring Mr. Sebastien Corniglion, CEO of DSTI School of Engineering, titled “Artificial Intelligence from Theory to Real-World Applications.” In this engaging session, Mr. Corniglion explored the crucial role of AI in addressing practical challenges across various industries, with a particular emphasis on machine learning, robotics, natural language processing, and data science.
The event featured a hands-on workshop using KNIME, where Mr. Corniglion guided students in creating AI workflows to demonstrate data processing and visualization techniques. He introduced key concepts of machine learning, including data preparation, model training, and visualization, while stressing the importance of foundational mathematical skills.
To further enrich the experience, Mr. Corniglion presented case studies that illustrated AI’s transformative applications in healthcare and finance, including innovations in diagnostics, personalized medicine, and fraud detection. This expert talk provided students with a comprehensive understanding of AI’s impact on the industry, aligning with Aurora’s commitment to preparing future-ready professionals with essential skills in artificial intelligence.
