Internal Hackathon for Smart India Hackathon 2024

On 18th September 2024, Aurora University, through its Centre for Future Skills, hosted a one-day Internal Hackathon as part of the Smart India Hackathon 2024 initiative in university seminar hall. This event, coordinated by Mr. K. Ravikanth (SPOC for SIH), aimed to prepare student teams for the prestigious national-level competition by encouraging innovative solutions to real-world problems identified by various industries and government sectors.

The Internal Hackathon witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 25 teams comprising students from CSE, CSE (AIML), CSE (DS), MCA, MBA, BBA, and BCA streams, representing both Freshmen and Sophomore year students. The teams, having registered for the competition, worked tirelessly on problem statements posed by multiple organizations and Ministries of India.

A distinguished jury panel evaluated the teams innovative solutions and selected 18 teams for final nomination, marking them as potential representatives for the national stage of the Smart India Hackathon 2024. The event not only allowed students to apply their classroom knowledge to real-life challenges but also offered valuable feedback from the jury, helping participants refine their problem-solving and presentation skills.

The objective of this Internal Hackathon was to foster an understanding of the problem-solving process, improve teamwork, and provide students with hands-on experience in addressing significant issues faced by industries and the government. The platform encouraged participants to think critically, work collectively, and showcase their creative solutions to real-world problems. The event was instrumental in enhancing the students practical skills in innovation,problem-solving, and teamwork. It gave them a sense of purpose and a chance to contribute to solutions that have the potential to positively impact society. This internal hackathon, organized by the Centre for Future Skills, was a stepping stone for the nominated teams as they prepare to compete at the national level in the upcoming Smart India Hackathon 2024.
