Bathukamma Navrang Raas Celebrations

Aurora University came alive with colour, music, and tradition as the community gathered to celebrate Bathukamma celebration, followed by an exciting Dandiya Night in the evening. The entire day was filled with tradition, joy, and energetic performances, leaving everyone with lasting memories.

The day began with the Bathukamma Puja, a celebration of nature, where beautifully arranged floral towers, known as Bathukammas, took center stage. The participants, dressed in colorful traditional attire, circled the Bathukammas, singing folk songs and performing dances in praise of the goddess, symbolizing gratitude to nature and togetherness within the community. The atmosphere was lively and spiritually uplifting, with the entire university campus adorned in vibrant colors.

After the traditional Bathukamma celebrations, the excitement continued with a lively Dandiya Night in the evening. The festive energy reached new heights as students and faculty gathered once again, this time dressed in vibrant Dandiya outfits, to participate in the traditional Gujarati folk dance. The rhythmic beats of the music and the sound of clashing dandiya sticks filled the air, creating an atmosphere of pure joy and celebration.

The event also featured exciting competitions that added to the excitement of the day. The prizes were graciously presented by Prof. Chandrasekar, Director of Evaluation (DOE), Aurora University, adding a special touch to the celebrations:

CSE Department won the coveted award for creating the tallest Bathukamma, showcasing their creativity and dedication.AIML & Data Science Department took home the prize for crafting an impressive 105 Bathukammas, making a remarkable contribution to the celebrations.Mr.Dhruvanand, a sophomore from Data Science, was crowned as the Best Dressed Boy, while Ms.Thanuja, a freshman from CSE, earned the title of Best Dressed Girl, adding an extra layer of excitement to the event.

In total, Bathukamma Navrang Raas event was a resounding success, embodying Aurora University’s commitment to celebrating culture, unity, and tradition. From the spiritual significance of the Bathukamma Puja to the energetic Dandiya dance, the day brought together the entire university community in a celebration filled with color, joy, and camaraderie.
