Aurora University celebrated Traditional Day on January 10, 2025, with the theme " Culture of Telangana," showcasing the vibrant traditions, customs, and heritage of the region. The event was a splendid representation of Telangana’s rich cultural legacy, bringing together the university community in a spirit of celebration and pride.

The day began with a Rangoli Competition, where participants crafted intricate designs inspired by Telangana’s art and culture using vibrant coloured powders. The campus was adorned with traditional motifs, reflecting the region’s artistic excellence.

Following this, the Pongal Cooking Competition highlighted the flavours of Telangana’s cuisine. Participants prepared delicious rice dishes, embracing the essence of the Sankranti harvest festival. The aroma of traditional recipes filled the air, creating a warm and festive atmosphere.

A highlight of the celebrations was the Kite Flying Competition, a cherished tradition in Telangana during Sankranti. The sky was painted with colourful kites as participants skilfully maneuverer them, reflecting the joy and energy of the festival.

Adding a cultural flair, the Ramp Walk showcased the traditional attire of Telangana, from the elegant pattu sarees to the dhotis and kurtas worn during festivals. Participants walked the ramp with poise, celebrating the unique clothing styles and accessories of the region.

The celebrations concluded with a spirited dance session, featuring folk tunes and beats from Telangana, including the lively Bathukamma and Bonalu songs. Students and faculty joined hands to celebrate with dance, creating an ambiance of joy and unity.

The event was a grand success, offering an immersive experience of Telangana’s culture and traditions. Winners and runners-up of the various competitions were felicitated by Dr. Rakesh Singh, Director of Research and Development, and Dr. Subapradha, Dean of the School of Management and Commerce, in recognition of their exceptional performances:
